The Academician Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic was founded in 1979, initially under the name “Center for the Prevention of Sepsis,” which at the time was an innovative concept throughout the Soviet Union. Thanks to consultations with experienced doctors, the mortality rate from sepsis in Georgia was reduced from 65% to 5%. In recognition of its successful activities, the founders of the center were awarded the State Prize in 1984. In 1987, the clinic moved into a specially constructed five-story building. Today, the Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic operates in the same building at 16 Alexander Kazbegi Avenue, fully renovated and modernized. This multi-profile clinic, equipped with the latest technology, provides 24-hour care for patients.
